All About Me
  1. Golf Achievements:
I have placed well in junior tournaments like the HSBC Youth Golf Challenge, winning 3 times since 2009. I qualified for the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final in 2010 by winning the U16 division in Singapore.
I was the Sportsboy of The Year of Anglo-Chinese School (Primary) in 2006 and have been receiving full colours awards, National and Zone colours since 2008.
  2. Other Achievements:
I have been consistently performing well academically, with an aggregate of 247 in the Primary School Leaving Examinations and a score of 10 in the GCE O-Level Examinations.
  3. Attributes that will make me a good college student-athlete golfer:
    • I work hard to improve
    • I am independent and mature
    • I have good time-management skills
    • I am never satisfied and always wanting to improve
    • I enjoy training and competing
    • I perform my best under pressure
  4. I will be a good college teammate because:
I have experience in team golf, winning Gold for my school in the National Inter-Schools Golf Championships - Team Event from 2008-2010. I have also represented Singapore and placed 2nd in the ASEAN Schools Games - Team Event in 2009. I respect my teammates and get along very well with them. I understand that mutual respect is essential for a successful team.
  5. I am looking for a university and golf program that:
    • Has high academic standards
    • Provides a well-rounded education
    • Is able to help me achieve academic and golfing excellence
  6. My college goals are:
    • To experience college life
    • To graduate with a degree
    • To experience and excel in college golf

  7. I am looking for a college golf coach that:
    • Is dedicated to teaching and helping me to improve my game
    • Makes sure I understand what he teaches me
    • Has trust in me
    • Constantly checks on my progress
  8. The strengths of my golf game are:
I have a strong mental game and I perform well under pressure. I drive the ball straight, hitting over 75% of fairways, have sharp iron play (13 greens per round) , and a good short game (pitching & chipping). I also have good control of speed on putts.
  9. The weaknesses of my golf game are:
I lack distance off the tee (about 255 yards) which leaves me with longer approach shots, making it more difficult to get them close. I also struggle with my shorter putts at times.
  10. I think my golf game will continue to improve because:
I am willing to work hard and always wanting to improve my game. I feel that I need to work on every part of my game all the time as I am never satisfied. I always try to learn from my mistakes and take bad rounds as part of the learning process. I give my best when I play and I am never complacent.
