All About Me
  1. Golf Achievements: I was cut from the high school team my freshman year. The following  spring and summer I worked hard on my swing and game. I tried out my sophmore year, made the team, playing well enough to become the number four player starting most matches. My junior year I focused all my efforts on golf, deciding not to tryout for basketball (I started through JV). I moved up to number three position (top players are playing D1, one is attending Wake Forest). I received the Sportsmanship and Most Improved Player of the Year awards from my accomplishments. The summer between my Junior and Senior year I played in a Cape Cod Junior Golf League and was fortunate enough to receive Player of the Year, coming in first for the Junior PGA, Cape and Islands division. http://www.capecodpga.com/junior_awards.php. I am now in my last year on the varsity golf team, playing the No. 2 spot preparing for state finals.
  2. Other Achievements:

I played baseball, basketball and golf my freshman and sophomore year. Though I have since decided to focus on golf my junior and now my senior year I do plan on trying out for the varsity basketball team in the winter and possibly either baseball or volleyball in the spring.

    Awards received in other sports
MVP 2007 - Dave Cowens Basketball School
Player of the Week 2008 - Rising Star Basketball Camp

I have also participated in the Massachusetts Special Olympics (basketball program) referring and coaching and helped with the local food bank stocking shelves.

  3. Attributes that will make me a good college student-athlete golfer: In 6th grade, I was dealt with a big move transferring from Tokyo, Japan to Wellesley, MA so I have learned to become comfortable quickly in new environments.  I'm also very even tempered making it easy for me to jump back from a bad hole.  Also, from playing many sports, I've developed good study habits and pretty good time management skills.
  4. I will be a good college teammate because:

I have played most of the competitive sports that are offered during throughout my youth. Also, I don't take a bad round off the golf course, so I'm ready to begin fresh at practice. I enjoy meeting new people, which I have had to do throughout my moves. I also enjoy supporting my teammates, especially the younger players but I'm also willing to listen to advice.

  5. I am looking for a university and golf program that:

are competitive with other schools, and are successful throughout the season. But small schools or new programs that are trying to get their name out there would be a good fit for me because I enjoy being a leader.

  6. My college goals are: to graduate with a degree in business management,  entrepeneurial, or international studies while playing competitive golf throughout my four years.
  7. I am looking for a college golf coach that: loves to be around the players, enjoys offering new tips and helping fix problems I may have.
  8. The strengths of my golf game are: my iron shots and overall short game which are extremely accurate and solid.  But what really separates me from other competitors is my ability to get out of trouble. I always stay calm and find a way to make the best out of a mistake.
  9. The weaknesses of my golf game are: my driver consistency and in some cases, my green-side bunker game which continues to improve
  10. I think my golf game will continue to improve because: I put a lot of time into my game throughout the entire year (course work, outdoor and indoor practice ranges). I always look forward to putting my time in and love playing golf. I also enjoy reading books on golf, especially books that help the mental part of my game like Golf is not a game of Perfect. The most relaxing thing I like to do is hang around a practice green, putt and chip all day.
