All About Me
  1. Golf Achievements: Look at my personal statement for golf achievements.
  2. Other Achievements: I was a successful athlete growing up. I played youth basketball, select baseball, and travel roller hockey. I volunteered as a baeball buddy for the mentally challenged while in San Antonio in 2004. I have been on the A/B honor roll during the 2008/2009 school year.
  3. Attributes that will make me a good college student-athlete golfer: I am the ultimate team player. I work extremely hard both on the course and in the classroom. I always try to help my teammates to get better. I am always there when they have a question and I treat everyone with respect.
  4. I will be a good college teammate because: I believe the team comes first. I always play hard and always feel it was a successful day not by where I finish on the leader board but where the team finishes.
  5. I am looking for a university and golf program that: I can improve my academics, plays in as many events as possible and gives me an opportunity to play right away.
  6. My college goals are: Be a good student and a competitive player.
  7. I am looking for a college golf coach that: Wants to win, is fun to be around, and takes the game seriously.
  8. The strengths of my golf game are: Iron play, the ability to scramble and my short game.
  9. The weaknesses of my golf game are: overthinking and making a big number wen I should have just played for a bogey
  10. I think my golf game will continue to improve because: I work extremely hard at being the best that I can be. I also have a good attitude, and great determination.
Personal Statement
I started playing golf in 2004 just before my 12th birthday. I immediately fell in love with the game and decided to give up all of my other hobbies so I could concentrate solely on golf. I picked up the game quickly and in 2005 I was asked by former PGA Tour player David Ogrin to play on Team USA made up of San Antonio area junior golfers to play in Mexico against Team Mexico and Team Canada in a Ryder Cup style Match. I have been fairly successful in just a short time playing golf. I made a double eagle in December 2005 at Canyon springs CC in San Antonio. I qualified for the 14U Junior World Golf Championship in San Diego in 2007. Even though I missed the cut I learned more about the game that week then in any other event I played in. I realized how many good players there are in the world and how hard you have to work to be the best. I was a varsity player at Reagan HS in San Antonio my freshman and sophomore year. I played on both the top 5 and bottom 5 teams during both of my years at Reagan. My most impressive tournament victory came in 2007 at the San Antonio Junior Match Play Championship 14/15 Division. I shot 74 in the qualifier which was good enough for the second seed and won 4 straight matches defeating the defending champion 5 & 4 in a semi final match where I was 5 under par through 14 holes and defeated the 2007 Starburst Golf Classic Champion 3 & 1 in the finals. In 2008 I moved to Pembroke MA and had a good summer winning twice and learning to play a different style of golf. In the Fall I joined the Pembroke HS golf team. Pembroke was thought to be in a rebuilding year but that all changed quickly as we finished 13-3-1 and won the Patriot League Fisher Division Championship. I was named Co-Captain and played in the number 1 position going 8-1-3 in match play and was 5 under par in 5 stroke play matches. My scoring average for the season was .68 over par and I was the medalist in 15 of 17 matches. I also set the 9 hole school record shooting 3 under par in stroke play matches twice within 9 days of each other. I was named Pembroke HS athlete of the month, Patriot Ledger Athlete of the week, Pembroke HS MVP, and Patriot Ledger All Scholastic. In October I posted a career best 7 under 65 at Halifax CC in a practice round with my high school teammates. Also in October I finished fifth out of 169 players at the prestigious South East Amateur Golf Tournament. I was the only junior golfer to make the cut and out played most of the top amateurs in Massachusetts. In 2009 some of my best finishes include finishing 8th at the Under Armor College Golf Combine East, second overall at the Massachusetts Junior Championship and T19 out of 100 shooting 4 over 148 at the World Series of Junior Golf.
