All About Me
  1. Golf Achievements:
I have won over thirty local tournaments. As a freshman at Parkland, I was ranked second on the team and was one of the only freshman in Parkland High School's golf history to play in every match. In my sophomore year of high school, I helped my high school team win our conference, District XI and Eastern Pennsylvania Regional titles. I also represented my team in the state tournament. I placed 2nd in the PGA Jr. Series at Penn State with the scores of 73-73-71. I qualified for the 2009 Big "I" National Championship which was in Ardmore, OK. I was awarded the 2009 Golf Association of the Lehigh Valley Player of the Year Award after winning two major events. I was also selected to be a part of the Pennsylvania Golf Association Team for the 2009 Williamson Cup at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, NY. In September of 2009, Golf Channel announced that I was named a College Golf Combine First Team All-American.
  2. Other Achievements:
I received an academic award in 8th grade for science. I finished 7th and 8th grade with straight A's. I plan to achieve straight A's throughout high school and I have achieved that so far up to my junior year. In 9th grade I achieved a GPA of 4.3. As a freshman, I enrolled in the engineering program called Project Lead The Way (PLTW). The course was called Introduction to Engineering Design. At the end of the course, there was a final test. For my success on the final test and throughout the year, I achieved 3 college credits from the Rochester Institute of Technology. In my sophomore year, I continued with the program in the Principles of Engineering class and acheived another 3 college credits. Also, I achieved a GPA of 4.23. I am currently continuing with the PLTW program in the Computer Integrated Manufacturing class as a junior.
  3. Attributes that will make me a good college student-athlete golfer:
One reason I believe I will be a good college student-athlete golfer is because I am able to obtain straight A's throughout the year. This is even if I am missing classes due to golf.
  4. I will be a good college teammate because:
I am a very nice person to all of my fellow competitors. One might see me giving advice to another competitor before I play a match against him/her. I am into the improvement of myself and everyone else around me. I believe that you are as good as the people you play against.
  5. I am looking for a university and golf program that:
I plan to attend a university that has a great science department. I also want a golf program that provides a great balance for me so that I can play in tournaments and practice while still having enough time to complete work for class.
  6. My college goals are:
I want to attend a university and major in the science department. I would like to achieve a college GPA of 3.7 or better. Also, I would also like to improve my game as much as possible while attending that school.
  7. I am looking for a college golf coach that:
I am looking for a coach that is into process and improvement. I like someone who offers new practice drills and help with the mental game. This shows their love and determination to the game of golf.
  8. The strengths of my golf game are:
Putting and chipping are my strengths. I do not hit a lot of greens but I am able to make up and down from anywhere around the green. I include putting into my strengths since I have started to go under thirty putts per round frequently. I am also good at course management. I have shot two over par from the back tees at my club without my woods (4 iron to putter).
  9. The weaknesses of my golf game are:
Ball striking is my worst part of my game but it is not horrible. I still hit about 10 or 11 greens but my ability to make up and down frequently allows me to shoot low numbers. I have just started working with a new swing trainer, Jim Muschlitz, in the spring of 2009. Working with him is helping me to hit more pure shots resulting in more greens hit.
  10. I think my golf game will continue to improve because:
I practice golf everyday. One improvement I have made in my practice time was to hit a lot less golf balls at the range and work on putting and chipping instead. This is making my scores drop continuously. I have also read Bob Rotella and Micheal Anthony sport pshycology books as well as Ben Hogan and Harvey Penick swing books. They have dramatically improved my game as well as my state of mind.
