All About Me
  1. Golf Achievements:
I was named 2013 High School Girls Golfer of Year by the Milwaukee Journal.  I had the lowest stroke average, won more tournaments and was 2nd in the 2013 Wisconsin D1 state tournament.  My team won state championships in 2012 and 2011.  In 2013, I was first team all state and academic all state.  I won my sectional at 8 under par, beating the course record by 5 shots.  I was medalist in my regional, conference player of the year and won 2 of the largest state invitationals.  My stroke average was 72 and I shot 5 rounds under par.
For summer 2013, I was MAJGT Player of the Year and 2nd team all FCWT.  I won 3 MAJGT events, 1 WPGA Players Tour and gained 25 AJGA performance stars.  I won the Optimist International WI Qualifier and finished 30 of 90 in the 4 day event.  I played for team Wisconsin and won both of my matches against team Minnesota.  I finished 8th, the second highest non college finisher, in the Wisconsin Women's State Open.  My stroke average was 76 from 6,000+ yards.
  2. Other Achievements:
I have participated in 6 musicals where I have had 3 lead roles.  I love working with the other cast members and directors and seeing the production come together over time.  I had a part in the Milwaukee Opera Company's production of Tosca.  I received a medal in the 2012 and 2011 Wisconsin high school state solo ensemble (singing) competition.  Beyond music and theatre, I have received our high school's merit award for community service and have received 2 Presidential awards for being on the school's honor roll.
  3. Attributes that will make me a good college student-athlete golfer:
I have a strong work ethic in both school and extra curricular activities.  My grade point average was 3.9 out of 4.0 during the most recent golf season.  My teachers would say I am very proactive in terms of getting assignments in advance and completing work when I have missed school for golf tournaments.  I have traveled alot with my family and traveled to attend golf tournaments and have learned how to study and get projects completed while away from home.  I love being busy and perform best when I am challenged.
  4. I will be a good college teammate because:
I love being part of a team and doing things with my teammates:  practicing, working out and hanging out together.  I am optimistic and love to fire my teammates up.  I appreciated how my teammates welcomed me onto my high school team as a freshman and understand how important our team relatinships were to our two state championships.  I get along with all players, both on my team and girls I have met from other cities and teams that I have played with over the years.  Some of these girls have become my very good friends.  I have learned that you can compete with these girls on the golf course and be close friends off the course.
  5. I am looking for a university and golf program that:
I am looking for a university that fits my goals both academically and athletically.  I wish to be challenged and stretched in school, in golf and be given the opportunity to contribute to the success of the program.  I also want to attend a school were I can stay connected with both the university and golf activities after I have graduated.
  6. My college goals are:
My college goals are to get a good education that will position me for a job after college.  I want to constantly improve my golf game and be part of a winning golf program.  I want to enjoy my teammates and the atmosphere created by the golf program.  I am interested in pursuing business marketing as an area of emphasis in college.
  7. I am looking for a college golf coach that:
I am looking for a college golf coach that pushes me, and helps guide me to become a better golfer and person.  I realize that becoming a better golfer is a combination of golf technical skills, fitness/nutrition and the mental side of golf.  I also want a coach that creates an atmosphere that is challenging, yet enjoyable.
  8. The strengths of my golf game are:
The strengths of my golf game are my distance and accuracy with my woods and hybrids.  I currently use a driver, 3 metal, 5 metal and 2 hybrids.  I have confidence in these clubs and will hit them whenever I need to.
  9. The weaknesses of my golf game are:
The biggest weakness in my golf game is my ability to consistently hit great recovery shots.  I need to become better at making par or even bogey after a shot that requires a recovery shot.  I do realize that sometimes you have to accept bogey, move to the next hole and not try to gain strokes back right away.
  10. I think my golf game will continue to improve because:
I will continue to improve in golf because my work ethic and love for the game makes me always strive to get better and achieve more.  You can always get better at hitting a certain shot, making more putts or dealing with difficult conditions.  I enjoy practicing all areas of the game and look forward to playing in tournaments.  Each year I have played golf I have improved and believe I will continue this trend in the future.
Personal Statement
I volunteered for 3 days as a standards bearer (carry the player's scores through each round) for the 2012 Women's U.S. Open at Kohler, WI.  Because of my golf experience, I was fortunate to be assigned some of the leading groups during the first three days of the tournament.  My groups included I.K Kim, Angela Stanford, Azahara Munoz, Michelle Wie (Friday 6 under par round), Brittany Lang and the second to last group on Saturday, Vicky Hurst and Inbee Park.  I learned a great deal from watching these professionals battle 100+ degree temperatures, manage the near impossible course layout, handle themselves always as professionals and deal with the ups and downs of a U.S. Open round.  It was a great experience and I learned first hand, and from close distance, how these players perform under such intense pressure.
