  3. Attributes that will make me a good college student-athlete golfer: I will not be outworked.  I like school and like to be challenged.  I am coachable and believe that I still have room to significantly improve my game.  I am willing to put in the time to be successful on the course and in the classroom.
  4. I will be a good college teammate because: I really do love golf as a team sport.  I work hard, but I also am a fun person.  I never blame my teammates and try to stay upbeat even if I don't play well.  It's important to support the team and work toward team goals.
  5. I am looking for a university and golf program that: will give me the best possible education while also allowing me to become the best golfer I can be.  I am still unsure of a major, but I know that I want to play college golf and I feel I am on track to be able to compete at the scholarship level.  I would prefer to stay somewhere in the midwest because of family and friends, but I am also not afraid to be adventurous.
  6. My college goals are: To get a degree in business, design, engineering or some other type of math related field.  I also want to contribute at the varsity level at a division I or division II golf program.  I play frequently with some of my state's better high school and college players and I want to play college golf at the highest level possible.
  7. I am looking for a college golf coach that: will get to know me as a person and will help me to become the best golfer, student  and person I can be.
  8. The strengths of my golf game are: ball striking and length.  I play my home course at 6000 yards and think adjusting to the length of college courses will not be a problem.
  9. The weaknesses of my golf game are: course management.  I don't think I score as well as I should based on how well I hit the ball. My short game is rapidly improving and I am learning to make better, less aggressive decisions on the golf course.
  10. I think my golf game will continue to improve because: I work and practice hard.  My putting and short game are improving steadily.  I have improved steadily the past 3 years and I know that will continue.  I have worked hard on my swing this spring (getting more upright and less flat to take better advantage of my height).  Making this change cost me some higher scores this spring (I shot as high as 93 this spring), but I am seeing the benefits of that work now.
Personal Statement
I am confident that I have the skill and qualities that coaches are looking for in a college golfer.  I am a good teammate and friend, a coachable athlete, and above all a student-athlete who works hard in the classroom.
I know what it takes to acheive my goals, and one of my goals is to play scholarship level college golf.
