All About Me
  1. Golf Achievements:
I have played varsity golf my freshman, sophomore, and junior years of high school.  In the 2007 season we won our sectional at Stonehenge in Warsaw, IN, and went on to the regional where we placed 2nd at Noble Hawk in Kendalville, IN.  We made a trip down to the Legends in Franklin where we placed 14th as a team at State.  In the 2008 golf season our team placed second at the Warsaw sectional and second at Cobblestone.  At State in 2008, we placed 19th overall as a team.  I was named All Northern Lakes Conference in 2008.  In 2009 we got second as a team in our sectional at Warsaw.  In 2010, I broke Plymouth High School Girls' Golf 18 hole record by shooting 72, even par, at Legacy Hills in Laporte, IN.  I was also named All Northern lakes Conference.
  2. Other Achievements:
I was named all conference in the Northern Lakes Conference for tennis in the 2009 and 2010 season.  We have also won our tennis sectional the last three years.  In 2010 I was named first team all district and honorable mention in tennis.  In basketball, I was the leading rebounder for the JV team in the 2008-2009 season.  I was moved up to varsity half way through the year.  I helped the team win a NLC title and sectional title.  In 2010 we won the sectional in basketball.  I was one of the starters all season long.

  3. Attributes that will make me a good college student-athlete golfer:
I believe that I will be a good college student-athlete golfer because I am pretty good at the "balancing act."  As a three sport athlete I have learned that you need to plan your time wisely in order to get everything you want accomplished.  Academics come first and foremost, but if you are on schedule with those then everything else just seems to fall into place.
  4. I will be a good college teammate because:

I am defintely a people-person, so I love to be with others.  In my opinion, golf teams are more than likely one of the closest teams in a school because there are less girls, so you can bond more.  I respect everyone that I play with and against.  I am intense, but encouraging.  I am focused, but fun.  I will get mad at myself, but then I'll shake it off and move on.

  5. I am looking for a university and golf program that:
I am looking for a university and golf program that cares about my progress as a golfer.  Some place that will help me meet my highest expectations and live up to my potential.
  6. My college goals are:
Above all I want to get a great education, so that in the future I will be able to acquire a good job.  I am a realist and the percentage of women who go on to play higher than college golf isn't very large at all, but I know that while I am in college I will want to be the best.  I will want to win the tournaments.  I will refuse to lose.  I will work hard, have fun, and still get the job done.

  7. I am looking for a college golf coach that:

I am looking for a coach that is intense, ambitious, encouraging, and who is passionate about what they do.  Someone who cares for their team and how well they do.

  8. The strengths of my golf game are:
The strengths of my golf game have to be my strength and my short irons.  I can bench press 125 pounds, power clean 135 pounds, and squat 225 pounds, so strength is on my side.  I feel as though the weight room has really improved my game and my distances.  My short irons are good because I know how far each of them goes and I can hit them straight.  When in doubt I will pick up my 7 or 8 iron and just go with it because I can trust it to be a good shot no matter what.
  9. The weaknesses of my golf game are:

The weaknesses to my golf game are definitely the "touch" shots:  the chips that aren't a special club, but you really have to feel it.  Those shots are hard for me along with putting.  I am not a terrible putter, but if someone were to ask me if i could change one thing about my game, that would be it.  Putting will determine whether I'm mid 80's or low 80's.  It is the determining factor to whether I shoot a 80 or a 79.  I need to work on my putting and those touchy chips.

  10. I think my golf game will continue to improve because:
I am a hard worker and I want to be the best that I can be.  I am very passionate about golf and enjoy playing it.  When you like something a lot, then you will want to be the best you can be and not sell yourself short.
