All About Me
  1. Golf Achievements: I started taking lessons from our club pro in August of 2007.  I worked hard on my swing through that winter and tried out for our high school golf team in the spring of 2008.  My school does not have a girl's golf team so I went out for the boy's team and made the JV squad in 2008.  This year I worked hard on my game and I made the boy's team again this spring.  Playing on the boy's team has helped me progress quickly but now it's time for me to get tournament experience.  I plan to play in at least 10  events this summer to gain more experience and my goal is to be one of the top 2 players on my high school team in my senior year.
  2. Other Achievements: I am a member of the National Honor Society and I have been on the honor roll every semester since middle school.  My freshman and sophomore years in high school I participated in volleyball and track, but since then I have been mainly concentrating on my golf game.  I am also a certified scuba diver, an avid snow skiier and I also enjoy travel.
  3. Attributes that will make me a good college student-athlete golfer: I am a very competitive person and I have a strong will to succeed at everything I do.  I'm proud of the dedication I have demonstrated as a student and the commitment I have made to making great progress on my golf game in less than two years.  I am committed to earning a degree and I'm convinced that participating in sports at the college level will be an incredible experience.  I enjoy the camaraderie of being part of a team and supporting each other.  I also enjoy the social aspect as well as the competitiveness we experience together.
  4. I will be a good college teammate because: Golf is a great sport because it challenges you in so many ways on a personal level but I find the team aspect of golf to be very rewarding. I enjoy helping my teammates, the challenge of delivering for the team and the opportunity to learn from my teammates.
  5. I am looking for a university and golf program that:

I'm looking for the opportunity to participate in a strong golf program with a solid team and a coach who can teach me about golf, how to play the game and how to reach my full potenital. My plan is to study in the field of health or nutrition so I'm looking at universities with good programs in these areas.

  6. My college goals are: 1) Earn a degree in the health or nutrition fields.
    2) Play golf in a a competitive program with a great coach and team.
    3) Have fun and enjoy the experience of college.
  7. I am looking for a college golf coach that:

    1) I understand that being a college athlete is challenging so I'm looking for a coach who will help me deal with the many different aspects of the experience.
    2) My goal is to find a coach who can help me learn to play the game at a very high level.
    3) I think it's important that I find a coach willing to accept someone like me who has only been playing for two years but has some raw talent.

  8. The strengths of my golf game are: 1) I have a natural, powerful swing.
    2) My willingness to work hard and practice every day to improve my game.
    3) The enjoyment I get from playing a round of golf.
  9. The weaknesses of my golf game are: 1) Putting. I'm working hard to improve my putting.
    2) Experience. I have been playing for less than two years and I have not played in any tournaments yet. I'll be playing in at least 10 tournaments this summer and will be working with my swing coach weekly throughout the next year.
    3) I have to learn to avoid the foolish mistakes that result in extra strokes.
  10. I think my golf game will continue to improve because:

    1) Through hard work I have made tremendous progress in my first two years.
    2) Hard work on improving my putting will eliminate 4 to 8 strokes from my scores.
    3) Experience and common sense will help me eliminate mistakes and generate more consistency which will help me remove another 4 to 8 strokes from each round.
