All About Me
  1. Golf Achievements:
  2. Other Achievements: Outside of golf the most important achievment to me is when I was selected by my head coach as one of two players who would attend a leadership conference for leadership in high school athletics.
  3. Attributes that will make me a good college student-athlete golfer: An attribute that is most important in being a good college student-athlete golfer is being a hard worker. I work very had whether I am doing school work or I am practicing at the golf course. I also am not a quiter and no matter how bad something is going I keep working at it and I never give up.
  4. I will be a good college teammate because: I belive that I will be a good teammate because I am very supportive and I am willing to help anyone that needs help on my team. I am also very helpful and i feel that i could help my teamates with anything like I help my high school teamates.
  5. I am looking for a university and golf program that: I am looking for a University that can supply me with a good education and can improve me as a person. I am looking for a golf program that will allow for me to improve and a program that I can be part of a team and feel comfortable around my teamates.
  6. My college goals are: My main goal in college is to do well in school. I have not always focused on academics but in the last few years i have learned through several experiences, that academics are the most important part of school and athletics come next.
  7. I am looking for a college golf coach that:

I am looking for a coach that can teach me strategies that can improve me as a player, person, and most importantly a student.

  8. The strengths of my golf game are: The strength of my golf game is my long game. I am very athletic and I have always hit the ball a long way and ever since I began seriously working on my golf game I have learned to hit it straight. I have also become a very good ball striker and I am now very consistant with irons and long wedge shots.
  9. The weaknesses of my golf game are: The weakness of my golf game is my short game and my mental game. I typically struggle with my putting and wedge game around the greens. I also have difficulty believing in myself and finishing a round.
  10. I think my golf game will continue to improve because: I think that my game will keep improving because I have only worked on competitive golf for a year and a half. I began golfing at a very young age, but I was attracted to contact sports such as football and wrestling. When I tore my ACL my freshman year of high school I decided that I should focus on golf because I could not get injured. When I first began playing seriously I struggled to compete, but as I conitued to work I saw improvement.I have seen a very drastic imporovement in my golf game, especially my consistency and I feel that this will continue throughout college.
Personal Statement
From a young age I always knew that I was good at golf, but I always strayed away from the competetive side of golf. When I was of an age to play I began to play physical contact sports that I was good at and I played until sophomore year. Those team sports taught me many important lessons that can be applied to golf, but until I began to play golf I never really knew what hard work was. My freshman year of high school I tore my ACL while playing football and I gave up on my school work and my rehabilitation. When I began to play golf I could not shoot a better score that an 80 and I struggled to be consistent. When I did not pertorm the way I wanted to, I finally realized that I could no longer cruise through life like I did my freshman year. During this year, I began to work harder than I ever had in both my schoolwork and my golf. I began to work for hours a night every night, even during winter, because I decided that it was important to me. I have worked harder at golf than anything else in my life, and I am begining to see the improvement that I desire. I am now looking to take that improvement to the next level with the help of a coach and teamates that are willing to help me develope my game. This year of golf has taught me about myself and has allowed me to realize that I can take my game to the college level, but I am looking for the support of a university to continue the progress that I have begun.
