All About Me
  1. Golf Achievements:
Entering High School I set several goals I wanted to achieve and so far I have met a couple of them
    1. Lead my High School team to win High School State Championships - achieved my Sophomore and Junior year
    2. Won High School Overall Region Tournaments - Achieved Freshman and Junior Year
    3. Shoot sub-par tournament rounds - achieved both my Freshman and Sophomore and Junior Year
    4. Averaged 71.1 for my High School tournaments
    5. Had two hole in ones this year
    6. Five sub-par tournament rounds this year
    7. Achieved MVP of my highschool golf team
  2. Other Achievements:
Volunteer teaching disabled students my age by attending class with them, giving one on one attention allowing them to participate in a standard High School schedule.
Also, I volunteer after school every friday and participate in an activity with these students, making sure they have fun.
Teach Elementry school children golf in offseason.
    Honor Roll Student GPA 3.6
Want to be a good person and good friend.
  3. Attributes that will make me a good college student-athlete golfer:
Because our golf season is shorter, we must fit our High School golf season into the first 8 weeks of school.  We miss every Thursday to play 18 holes of golf for our District meets. This requires me to communicate with my teachers to get assignments and take tests prior to meets as well as following up afterwards making up missed work. I also must be very organized in order to accommodate my busy schedule during this time. A typical High School day for me is school from 7:30 to 2:30, golf from 2:30 to 6:30, workout/physical training from 6:30 to 7:30, finishing the day with studies.
  4. I will be a good college teammate because:
When I started High School I was a new incoming student  from Texas just as I will be when I go off to College. I endured my Freshman year maintaining a 3.8 GPA while having a great golf season, winning 2 district matches (one was a low tournament round of 66 which is a second best High School State record), winning Regionals, placing top 10 in High School State championships, being named to the High School All-State Team, and awarded "Most Inspirational" by the golf coaches.
I am a team leader. I communicate with all my teammates and listen to what they have to say. Although I have played as the number 1 player on the team I am proud to go out and play with those who ask me. I treat everyone equally and with respect just as I would expect them to treat me.

  5. I am looking for a university and golf program that: That offers both outstanding academics and golf program. My first career choice is to become a pro golfer. You need to have more than just a great game, you need to have management skill, that is why academics are so important. Business and business law is another interest I have.
  6. My college goals are: Graduate with honors in 4 years. Grow academically, personally and improve each year in my golf game. Being named Academic All American. I want to continue and grow as a outstanding all around person being both a team leader as well as an honor student.
  7. I am looking for a college golf coach that: Will help me grow my golf game. Teach me and lead me to become a great player and person. Works on strength and conditioning. Also I would like a coach that will listen to me and be open to my suggestion both related to my game and the team. I am proud to say I currently have a very close relationship with my High School golf coach, Murph. Since I was a Sophomore, Murph comes to me whenever he needs insight from a player perspective. Its nice to know he values my opion so highly.
  8. The strengths of my golf game are:
I want to win, but I am calm, cool and collective. If I have a bad shot I forget about that shot and focus on my next shot. If I have a bad hole I have learned to sing a song and/or eat my Swedish fish to calm down, forget about it and go onto the next hole.

  9. The weaknesses of my golf game are:

My short game needs improvement, and I need to have all the shots around the greens. Consistency and ownng my golf swing are areas of improvement I am working on.  When I measure my game against the pros on TV, it is clear to me that getting my putting average down , GIR and FIR needs to be an important componet of my game.

  10. I think my golf game will continue to improve because: I am focused and determined to be the best golfer I can be. My parents tell me I am not measured by what I have achieved but but by what I will achieve in the future.I know I can shoot sub-par and i want to make it happen. To make this happen, my pre-shot routine, mental game, and my practice habits need to become consistent and professional material.
Personal Statement
I am a well rounded person. I am a tournament golfer, honor roll student, and a student leader. I love golf, school, and spending down time with my friends, but I also know where my priorities are which requires me to be mature about my actions and decisions. I have a great relationship with my golf team mates, my peers, the disabled kids I work with, my teachers and my golf coach. I am living the dream and want to continue living that dream.
