All About Me
  1. Golf Achievements: Highlights of my golfing career include making the varsity golf team as a freshman, sophomore, and junior  and qualifying to play in our Montana High School State AA Golf Tournament  all 3 years. I have played in our school's #1 varsity spot for 2 years, and made the All State team for the last two years. Our opening round was played in 32 degree weather with snow on the course. I have qualified for the Montana State Junior Championship four years in a row (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009).  This past summer, July 2009, I won the Optimist International Junior Golf Qualifying tournament which included golfers from Montana, Wyoming, Alberta and Saskatchewan Canada.  This exciting achievement has led to my qualifying to play in the Optimist International Junior Golf Championship in Florida in 2010.
  2. Other Achievements: Academics are important to me. I strive to complete each semester with solid grades. I also hold down a part time job so I can help earn my own way. This has enriched my knowledge of balancing finances.
I have volunteered at Harvest Church's Celebrate Freedom 4th of July celebration. I also volunteer each year at the Skyview High booster club golf tournament and the All City High School golf tournament.
  3. Attributes that will make me a good college student-athlete golfer: I understand that the term student-athlete means student first. I need a solid education if I plan to be successful in the future. Secondly I am an athlete. It happens to be my most favorite part of the equation.
  4. I will be a good college teammate because: I will bring my positive attitude, strong work ethic and dedication to the team.  Helping my teammates stay focused or giving them encouragment when they need it is a priority for the team.  In order to have a successful team you must first act like a team and you must be responsible to and for each other.
  5. I am looking for a university and golf program that: I'm looking for an atmosphere that encourages growth as a person, a student and a golfer.  The university I attend will have many opportunities for learning in a variety of studies and help my golf game also. Golf is an important part of my life, but I will make my choice first based on the educational opportunities available, then on the golf program at the university.  My choice for a golf program will have encouraging yet strict coaches.
  6. My college goals are: To graduate with a full degree in my chosen field and do very well in golf.  College is an exciting time that I am looking forward to experiencing.  I know that not only will I earn a degree, make lifelong friends, and improve my golf game, but I will also grow as a person through all these experiences during college.
  7. I am looking for a college golf coach that: Im looking for a college golf coach that will be able to push me and my golf game to new heights as we progress.  I need a coach that will teach me new skills to master and to be able to give me solid advice and enrich my golf skills and my college experience.
  8. The strengths of my golf game are: The strengths of my golf game are both mental and physical. My mental game has progressed this season and I am now able to play the course instead of the competitors. This change has allowed me to play my own game and to challenge myself.Golf is not about the last shot, but rather your next shot. The physical strength to my golf game  is that I work out on a regular schedule throughout the year and eat healthy most of the time. Strength and endurance has helped me achieve longer, more accurate drives, and allows me to be able to execute tricky shots. Being physically fit also makes my mind stronger.
  9. The weaknesses of my golf game are: While my game has improved each year, there is much for me to learn yet. I need to take full command of each shot. I need to add some new shaped shots to my game. I also need to work on a contolled fade. I sometimes get ahead of myself towards the end of a round, and I am working on focusing only on the next shot.
  10. I think my golf game will continue to improve because: My golf game is going to improve because I work hard and have been getting tournament experience in
out-of-state tournaments. Every year I improve and shoot lower scores and I strive to be even better and more mentally strong .
