- Golf Achievements: I am the 2007 & 2008 NIAA Regional Champion and the 2007 & 2008 Player of the Year for Northern Nevada. I have qualified for the Callaway Junior World Golf Tournament two years in a row beginning in 2008. My career low score is 66 at Genoa Lakes Golf Resort in Genoa, NV. My high school season stroke average for 2008 was a 74.7. My Freshman year in high school I qualified for State and was tenth overall. My Sophomore year I tied for third overall statewide. In my junior golf season, I qualified for State and earned third place. I have also been fortunate to play for the Northern Nevada team at the girl's Junior America Cup for two years in a row. In addition I have played for the Mary Cave Cup in 2008 and 2009.
- Other Achievements:
In my freshman and sophomore years at Douglas High School in Minden, NV, I finished with a 4.0 unweighted GPA. I have also been honored as one of the top 40 student athletes in Douglas County, NV through the MeFiYe Foundation. I have been on the honor roll of my two years in high school and been recognized with numerous certificates of academic achievement. I am currently ranked 27th out of 452 students in my junior class with a GPA of 4.0 (weighted GPA of 4.167).
- Attributes that will make me a good college student-athlete golfer: I enjoy and exhibit team spirit and freely offer support to my teammates as needed. I am motivated to continue my current academic success and am looking forward to a collegiate union with fellow students. I want to win; i want my future college team to win, and I will work my butt off to help bring home a trophy.
- I will be a good college teammate because:
I can encourage other students by my positive and calm attitude, which is my basic nature, and I feel that is advantageous to the game of golf. My attitude on the golf course with others is laid back, making time pass with ease and fun.
- I am looking for a university and golf program that:
I would like to find a university that would help me develop skills to take me through life helping others and a golf program that would teach me additional golf skills and at the same time enjoy my experience with my teammates. I want to study chemistry and archaeology/anthropology in my college years. I want to be on a golf team where the team atmosphere is serious but fun at the same time.
- My college goals are: My college goals are:
1) Play for the golf team and compete in the tournaments
2) Study and excell in my studies
3) Make friends I can have for life
- I am looking for a college golf coach that: I would love to have a coach who is friendly, helpful, and willing to work with me on my golf game. I would love my coach to support me and cheer me up when one of those ugly golf days comes up. I do not want a coach who gets angry at me when I hit a bad shot. I would love for my college coach to always support me and be there for me whenever I am in need. Also, I need a coach who can improve my putting greatly.
- The strengths of my golf game are: I have a club head speed of about 106 mph; I can out drive my competition by 20-40 yards off the tee with my driver. My swing speed and my distance are my strengths. I can hit the long ball.
- The weaknesses of my golf game are: I need to be more consistent 100 yards and in, and around the green. My ultimate weakness that always kills me is my putting; I am almost guarteed to three putt every time I go out to play. It's not good, but at least I am honest.
- I think my golf game will continue to improve because:
I think my golf game will continue to improve because in college I will have a coach who knows the game and will always be there. Also, I am a hard working Type A girl; I work my butt off to get everything perfect, and I incorporate this into my golf game.
Hi!!!
I have been playing golf for about five years now. I have been working with my current swing instructor, Eric Snyder, for about three years. He moved away almost two years ago to Ohio. His move has made my golf journey a little more difficult than what it was earlier. In these years following his move, I consider myself lucky if I get a lesson from him three times a year. Nonetheless, I love the swing he has been teaching me and I would love to keep it throughout my entire golf career.
Also, I have never really had a consistent short game instructor. But, just recently, I flew down to Las Vegas, Nevada and went to a Butch Harmon School of Golf. I met up with a Harmon instructor and we worked together on my short game for three strong hours. My lesson went very well and I will be continuing my lessons with him for (hopefully) a long time.
When I first meet someone, I am a shy and quiet girl. I am not so talkative in front of people I don't know so well. But when you get to know me I am funny, fun and great to be around. My friends just gave me the nickname "Blossom" because I am "like a flower that lights up everybody's day." When my friends told me that I almost started to cry!!
I just recently finished first semester at my school and ended up with a 4.167 GPA. It took quite a lot of hours sitting behind a desk to get these grades but I believe it paid off. I earned: 100% in Weight Training, 95% in English 3, 93% in PreCalc/Trig, 96% in Spanish 4, 100% in U.S. History, and 84% in AP Chemistry.
Golf to me is like dogeball. If I am going to hit you, I am going to hit you hard! Same idea in golf: I don't just want to beat you by a few strokes. I want to beat you by five, six, ten strokes! I want to kick butt.
I want to play college golf because I don't want to stop playing golf after high school; I want to keep playing this game. I want to play with other players who will make me better. I want learn how to improve my game so I can do great. I want to open up a can of whoop @$$ on tournament day; I want to win.
"Forgettin' what is behind. I'm moving straight ahead. And I will run with a passion until I reach the end. I won't let my eyes move left or right. I'll run with all my heart. I'll give it all I got!!!"
