I am proud of this because this tournament consisted of mainly college players and amateurs under the age of 25.

  3. Attributes that will make me a good college student-athlete golfer:
I know how to balance my education, golf, and church demands.  I am highly motivated to excel in all of these areas.  I am success driven and enjoy challenges.

  4. I will be a good college teammate because:
While I am a very competitive person, I enjoy being part of a team and look to learn from my teammates as well as mentor any of them.  I will only be a positive influence on the team.
  5. I am looking for a university and golf program that:
Has a quality education, good facilities, a faculty and coaching staff that is accessible.   I am looking for a place where I can contribute and grow as a golfer and a person.
  6. My college goals are:
To be the best student, athlete and teammate that I can be while living a Christian lifestyle.  When I graduate I want to be prepared to excel in society.  The combination of a quality education and the life skills that golf provides will help me accomplish this.  I will maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0+ and will be a leader on the golf team.
  7. I am looking for a college golf coach that:

Will invest in me.  I am looking for someone who will provide leadership, fairness, and challenge me to not only become a better player but a better person.   I have been blessed to have great coaches who have inspired me.  I look forward to this continuing in college.

  8. The strengths of my golf game are:

Keeping my composure and a positive attitude while playing. I am able to make solid contact with every club which allows me to control accuracy and distance. I enjoy the challenge of playing in windy conditions and have learned how to hit shots according to all types of weather conditions. I am very comfortable with 5 foot putts. Another strength of my golf game is the mental aspect of the game. I continue to improve in this area focusing more on course management. My calm demeanor allows me to bounce back quickly when bad breaks happen.

  9. The weaknesses of my golf game are:
Lag putting is my weakness in my golf game. I have a tendency to be too aggressive on lengthy putts instead of getting the ball within 3 feet. Knowing this I have dedicated daily practice time on lag putting.
  10. I think my golf game will continue to improve because: Over the past 12 months my game has dramatically improved.  I have gone from shooting in the 90's to the 70's in tournaments.  This is a result of having professional instruction for the past 18 months from my swing coach and my desire to be the best I can be in golf.   I know that I have a lot of upside in my game.  I have learned to enjoy practicing and look forward to it everyday.
Personal Statement
April 25, 2009, 1:12 PM my life changed forever.  On this day my cousin Andrew, who was more of a brother to me tragically died in a car accident.  He was just 16 years old.  We did everything together.  Before this day, I did not really know what the meaning of "live life to its fullest" really meant.  I heard it all the time from my dad and grandfather and I still took everything for granted.  After the funeral I sat in my room and started to understand what this saying meant.  I decided to commit to "living life to its fullest."  I want to be the best that I can be.  I am grateful for all that I have and am committed to excel in school, golf, church, family, and friends.  Golf has become my best friend.  It has helped me so much during this challenging time.

My future is bright and I am excited to finish my senior year in high school.  I look forward to college where I plan to contribute to the golf team and major in Business or Broadcast Journalism.
