All About Me
  1. Golf Achievements: To start off the summer season, I shot a 77 at the Bridgestone Spring Series Championship on May 30th  at East Valley Golf Club-Champions Course, in Beaumont, Ca, which is a par 72 course, rating 65.8, slope 117, 5724 yards. I placed third in this tournament, and shot my personal best. My best practice round is a 75 at Green River Golf Club, a slope 124 course. I have competed on the La Reina varsity golf team for two years. As a sophomore my scoring average was 49.5 for nine holes and as a junior my scoring average dropped to 42.1. As a sophomore, I played in two California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) tournaments with the varsity team and made First Team All League. My junior year I was a 5 time medalist out of 15 league matches and I also went to CIF and made First Team All League. In my last five practice rounds on a 5206 yard course, I’ve averaged at 79. I know that my practice schedule is lowering my scores quickly.
  2. Other Achievements: I have been playing softball for almost 10 years and I started pitching in 18 Gold travel softball when I was 14, so I am used to, and really enjoy, playing under pressure and having a rigorous practice schedule. I played on the La Reina Varsity softball team for two years as the team’s number one pitcher. But after the success I had in golf my sophomore year of high school, I made the decision to play golf full time and pursue my golf career. Because of my athletic background, I’ve gone from never having played golf before 2006 to being the number one player and team captain of the La Reina varsity golf team.
  3. Attributes that will make me a good college student-athlete golfer: My grades have proven to be higher during my sports seasons, so academically I do well with the tight practice and work schedule that will be present during my college career. My self-discipline to get school work completed as soon as possible has made me successful in my high school career. In sports, I have always prided myself at being one of the hardest workers.
  4. I will be a good college teammate because: I learned as a softball pitcher how to pick myself and my teammates up when we were down and motivate us to keep working hard. I’ve been able to transfer that positive attitude into my golf game.

  5. I am looking for a university and golf program that: Will allow me to grow as a person, and a player and will fit with my competitive spirit. I’m looking forward to a fun team atmosphere and the comradery of the team.

  6. My college goals are: At this time my goals are to find the right college that will help me discover what career paths I will take.

  7. I am looking for a college golf coach that: will strengthen my knowledge of the game and my skills in golf, and at the same time help build  my character as an adult through my involvement in sports.

  8. The strengths of my golf game are: Driving, Chipping, Approach Shots, and most of the time, Putting.

  9. The weaknesses of my golf game are: Analyzing the golf course and playing smart golf. I am very aggressive in golf and I don’t always analyze the hazards and risks for each shot.

  10. I think my golf game will continue to improve because: I have learned and believe that practicing hard pays off. Right now my scores don’t always show my hard work, but I am confident they will.
