All About Me
  1. Golf Achievements: I have placed highly in both high school and junior golf torunaments over the past year such as first place in the Joe and Coles Danville Junior 2008 with a 74 and placed second in the same tournament this year with a 71. Also I won the San Fransisco Bay Area Challenge with an individual 77 and led my high school to take 1st overall in the tournament. Sophmore year I was league MVP and this past year I was on First team All League
  2. Other Achievements: Well in addition to golf I have also played soccer for the majority of my life and I play for my highschool soccer team. This past year I was a co captain of the soccer team and helped lead the team to the second round of the North Coast Sectional playoffs.  Given both soccer and golf it has been difficult to maintain grades with the daily practice and multitude of missed classes for matches and games and so I am proud to maintain the gpa especially given the classes that I have taken. One notable achievement is that for the second semester of sophmore year I took 7 classes which is one over the full schedule for my high school. I did this in order for me to take calculus this year as opposed to senior year so that i could take more AP classes while in high school and give my self the added challenge.
  3. Attributes that will make me a good college student-athlete golfer: determination and competitive nature. I love to win and be the best and that helps motivate me to put in the extra effort to become better at golf and to do well academically.
  4. I will be a good college teammate because: I thrive off of freindly competition and I love to push teammates in hopes that they will push me back so that we can become the best versions of ourselves and create the best team possible. Also I try to help team mates when they are struggling and, if possible and if they are willing, give them some tips I might use for whatever they might be struggling with to help them get out of their rut.
  5. I am looking for a university and golf program that: allow both my academic and golfing abilities to thrive and prosper. Additionally, I am looking for an exciting and fun environment at the school and on the team. For the golf team, fun does not replace or not mean a competitive environment, half the fun comes from the competition.
  6. My college goals are: to get a degree in a scientific major and to do something meaningful that will have a positive impact on the world around me. Also, I want to become the number one golfer and captain of the golf team and lead the team to some sort of prestigous record or award.
  7. I am looking for a college golf coach that: has rich knowledge of the golf game and the ability to pass on that knowledge on to his/her golfers. Additionally, I am looking for a coach that will push me to be the best golf that I can be.
  8. The strengths of my golf game are: the ability to scramble and scrap together a round of golf even if I am not hitting the ball particularly well. An example of this can be seen when I played a match for my club golf team and shot a 73 while only hitting one green in regulation.
  9. The weaknesses of my golf game are: my consistency and my mental toughness. These two sort of build off of each other because I have a difficult time staying completely focused in a round when things are not going my way which can in turn make me take worse and worse swings at the ball and make worse decisions on the course.
  10. I think my golf game will continue to improve because: I have begun practicing more and more as of late as well as working out regularly. In addition, I have had a change in idealogy while on the golf course in that I dont feel i need to swing for the fences on every single shot and that alone has made me more consistent and calmer on the golf course. Lastly with age comes maturity and slowly I am calming down and not letting one bad hole get to me and turn one bad hole into three bad holes.
